“Prove It” on Easter Sunday

21 Apr 2019
0

We want to invite you to join us Easter Sunday morning for family groups (9:30 – 10:30) and worship (10:40 – 11:40). During our worship service, Pastor Nick will begin a new sermon series from 1-3 John called Prove It.

A Christian’s life should be living proof of his or her relationship with God, and so Nick will challenge you throughout this series to consider the proof of your faith. Does your love for God prove itself in love for others? Does your relationship with God prove itself through obedience to His Word?

How can you be sure that you are a Christian? Nick typically encourages people to spend time reading and praying through 1 John when they ask that question. Thus, this should be a very helpful, practical and important series for all of us.

Below are the messages Nick hopes to preach in this series…

1 John 1:1-4 – “Proof of Jesus”

1 John 1:5 – 2:2 – “Proof of Light”

1 John 2:3-11 – “Proof of Salvation”

1 John 2:12-17 – “Proof of Priorities”

1 John 2:18-27 – “Proof of Truth”

1 John 2:28 – 3:10 – “Proof of Birth”

1 John 3:11-24 – “Proof of Love”

1 John 4:1-6 – “Proof of the Spirit”

1 John 4:7-21 – “Proof of God”

1 John 5:1-12 – “Proof of Faith”

1 John 5:13-21 – “Proof of Assurance”

2 John – “Proof from Truth”

3 John – “Proof from Reputation”

If you have any questions and/or want more information about our church or this sermon series, please contact us. Hope to see you on Wednesdays and Sundays!

He is risen! Praise the Lord!

Supporting God’s Mission

In just a couple months, June 4-11, we have more than a dozen people (including several youth) heading to Guatemala for our second trip to minister to orphans at Casa De Mi Padre in Santa Cruz Del Quiche and proclaim the gospel to people in the surrounding communities.

Then, in July, we have some youth joining dozens of other youth from the Grand Crossings Baptist Association on their annual mission trip to North Dakota. While there, they will continue their gospel ministry to Native Americans living on a reservation.

Finally, in November, we have a few people heading to Central Asia to minister to locals with the hope and promise of Jesus Christ.

Would you consider supporting those going on these trips? Our church is in the process of doing some fundraisers with more information in our foyer, like the envelope campaign pictured below.

Also, you can give quickly and securely online by clicking HERE and selecting “Mission Trip Fund” from the dropdown menu.

If you have any questions about God’s heart for the nations, our commitment to His mission, or anything above, please contact us.

Our envelope campaign encourages and provides the opportunity for all levels of financial giving to support God’s mission. You can grab one envelope or multiple envelopes, giving anywhere from $1 to $200 per envelope. This allows all individuals in our church to contribute to the cause, and 100% of these contributions will go to those going on church-led mission trips.

This coming Sunday, March 24, we will have lunch following our morning worship service, and Allen Calkins of the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home Foundation will lead us through a financial stewardship seminar. During this two-hour gathering, Allen will teach us about the basics of biblical stewardship, biblical budgeting, and biblical estate planning. If you care about your financial well-being and your financial integrity, you do not want to miss this event!

Of course, we also hope you will join us for family groups (9:30 a.m.) and our worship service (10:40 a.m.). Allen will be preaching God’s Word to us during the worship service, and the lunch and stewardship seminar will follow.

If you have any questions or want more information, please contact us. For our weekly schedule of events and services, please click HERE.

Do you want to serve children and families in our community? We hope you will join us for an important informational meeting this coming Sunday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m. to learn more about Safe Families for Children.

Safe Families for Children is a national movement of compassion that gives hope to families in crisis. This network of volunteer host families help parents who need temporary care for their children as they work through unmanageable or critical circumstances.

Would you consider being a “safe family?” Please join us Sunday. For more information and/or if you are interested but cannot join us for the meeting, please contact us.

As always, you are also invited to our regularly scheduled activities each week. Click HERE for our weekly calendar.

New Series – Learning from King David

25 Feb 2019
0

What does King David have to do with you? Much more than you might think. We can learn a lot from King David’s life as recorded in God’s Word, and this coming Sunday, March 3, Pastor Nick Drake will begin a new six-week series called The Gospel According to David.

Focusing on some of David’s major life events, Nick will challenge you to consider how these are markers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. How can we see the greatest King – King Jesus – in and through the life of King David? Then, what is our necessary response?

Lord willing, Nick hopes to preach the following messages in this series:

“Chosen by Grace” (1 Samuel 16:1-13)

“Serving in Humility” (1 Samuel 16:14 – 17:19)

“Victorious Faith” (1 Samuel 17:20-51)

“Suffering in Obedience” (1 Samuel 24)

“Fearful of God” (2 Samuel 6)

“Sinful but Repentant” (2 Samuel 11)

We pray this sermon series will help you seek the Lord and grow in your relationship with Him.

As always, you are invited to join us on Sunday mornings for Family Groups (9:30) and our morning worship celebration (10:40), and Sunday evenings for our prayer and praise service. We also have a free supper on Wednesday evenings at 5:45, followed by activities for all ages from 6:30 – 7:30.

For more information on our weekly schedule, please click HERE. If you have any questions, please to contact us.

UPDATE: Sunday evening services have also been canceled. We hope to see you Wednesday evening, though.
